1. Introduction

PT. Anak Kucing Terbang ("we," "our," or "us"), the company behind Studium, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Studium, our session-tracking service for academics (the "Service"). Studium is designed around a simple principle: it tracks that you worked, never what you wrote.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

Studium uses Google for sign-in only — there are no Studium passwords. We collect:

Your Google account name and email address
Your display name and handle, if you set them in Settings

2.2 Session and Tracking Data

The Service is metadata-only. For each logged session we store:

Session duration, start time, and project association
A session title and optional description you choose to add
Activity tallies: word counts recorded as before/after values (the delta is derived, and the underlying text is never collected), emails sent (count), and papers read (count)
Project names, project visibility settings, and optional "related to" links
Honors given and received, and streak and statistics derivations computed from the above

Follow relationships (the Service shows session data to mutual followers only)
Your visibility preferences: account default (Friends or Private) plus per-project and per-session overrides
A display name and handle, and the date you joined, as shown to the people who follow you

2.4 Technical Information

Device information (IP address, browser type, operating system)
Your timezone, so your sessions and streaks are bucketed into your calendar days
Usage analytics (features used, navigation patterns), performance and error logs
Cookies and similar technologies (for example, your session cookie and a timezone cookie)

3. What We Do Not Collect

Studium is built so that we cannot read your work even if we wanted to:

We never collect your manuscripts, drafts, thesis chapters, or any writing text
We never upload, store, or process your documents
We use no AI models on your content — there is nothing to process
Word counts are numbers you enter (before/after values); the words themselves never reach our servers

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1 Service Provision

Provide and maintain Studium: the timer, session logs, projects, stats, and records
Compute streaks, balances, and achievements in your local timezone
Keep your running timer state across devices and reloads

Show your sessions in the feed of people you mutually follow, according to your visibility settings
Deliver honors and encouragement within the community
Let you export share images and videos of your own stats, generated entirely on your device

4.3 Account Management

Create and manage your account via Google sign-in
Administer the invite-only program: validate invite codes, maintain the allowlist, and manage the waitlist
Provide customer support and respond to bug reports and feedback

4.4 Improvement and Analytics

Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
Ensure platform security and prevent abuse
Comply with legal obligations

5.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or session data to third parties. No advertisers, no data brokers, no exceptions.

5.2 Visibility Controls

Your session data is shared with other users only according to the visibility choices you make:

The feed shows sessions from mutual followers only
Per-project and per-session overrides let you log fully private sessions even on otherwise visible projects
Non-mutual users see only what your visibility settings allow

Share images and videos are composited and encoded on your device. We do not receive copies; what you post elsewhere is up to you.

5.4 Service Providers

We may share information with trusted providers who help us operate the Service:

Cloud hosting and infrastructure
Google (authentication)
Analytics and performance monitoring
Email delivery for service communications

5.5 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to:

Comply with legal obligations
Protect our rights and property
Ensure user safety and platform security
Investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service

5.6 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention

7.1 Active Accounts

We retain your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service.

7.2 Account Deletion

Upon account deletion:

Your profile, projects, sessions, activities, follows, honors, and timer state are deleted
Waitlist entries are handled separately and deleted on request
Some records may be retained where required for legal compliance

7.3 Inactive Accounts

Accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be subject to data deletion after notice.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Visibility Controls

You choose who sees your data: set an account default (Friends or Private), override per project, and override per session. Changes apply going forward.

8.2 Profile Choices

You can change your display name at any time and your handle once every 30 days. Your Google account name is used only for sign-in and is not shown to other users.

8.3 Account Access and Deletion

You can access and update your account information in Settings. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us ([email protected]).

8.4 Marketing Communications

Studium is free and we keep email to a minimum. If we ever send product updates, you can opt out while continuing to receive essential service communications.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

9. International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

Studium is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.

11. Invites and Waitlist

Studium is invite-only:

Waitlist: we store only the email address you submit; duplicate signups are ignored
Invite codes: codes are single-use and expire after 7 days. When someone redeems one of your codes, we show you their first name and join date only — never their email or full profile
Allowlist: pre-approved email addresses are stored to grant access at sign-in
You can keep up to five active invite codes at a time; redeemed or expired codes do not count

12. California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Right to know what personal information is collected
Right to delete personal information
Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)
Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify users of material changes through:

Email notification to registered users
Prominent notice on our website
In-app notifications

Continued use of Studium after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
