Terms of Service for Studium

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Studium ("the Service," "we," "our," or "us"), you ("User," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Studium is a session-tracking service. It enables users to:

Log study and writing sessions with a live timer or manual entry
Tag sessions with projects such as papers, grants, or thesis chapters
Track activity tallies: words written (before/after counts only), emails sent, and papers read
Build streaks, earn honors, and view statistics and records
Follow friends and cheer each other on through a mutual-only feed
Create share images and videos of your own stats

Studium never stores your manuscripts, drafts, or any written text.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

Accounts are created by signing in with Google; Studium does not issue passwords
You must provide accurate, complete, and current information via your Google account and profile settings
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
One person may not maintain multiple accounts

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
We are not liable for losses due to unauthorized account access

3.3 Access

Studium is invite-only. Access requires an invite code, an allowlisted email, or selection from the waitlist, and the access model may change.

3.4 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Permitted Uses

You may use Studium for:

Personally tracking your academic and creative work sessions
Encouraging friends and colleagues through follows, honors, and the feed
Sharing your own statistics via the Service's export features

4.2 Prohibited Uses

You may not use Studium to:

Harass, bully, stalk, or intimidate other users, including through follows, honors, or reported content
Impersonate others or provide false information
Manufacture sessions or activity data to deceive other users (see Section 4.3)
Sell, transfer, or farm invite codes
Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data from the Service
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the platform
Interfere with the Service's functionality or security
Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
Violate any applicable laws or regulations

4.3 Self-Reported Data

Studium runs on an honor system. Logged sessions, word counts, and activity tallies are self-reported, and the Service stores no writing text against which to verify them. You agree not to log deliberately false or misleading data intended to deceive the people who follow you. We may take action on accounts used for coordinated manipulation of leaderboards, streaks, or feed content.

5. User Content and Data

5.1 Your Data

You retain ownership of your session logs, activity tallies, project names, descriptions, and profile information ("Your Data")
You represent that Your Data does not violate these Terms or any applicable law

5.2 License to Us

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to store and process Your Data solely to provide and operate the Service, including computing statistics, displaying content according to your visibility settings, and maintaining backups.

Your Data is shown to other users only according to your visibility settings
The feed shows sessions from mutual followers only
Changing visibility settings applies prospectively

Share images and videos are generated on your device and are yours to post. You are responsible for the content you publish elsewhere and for the rights to any background media you include.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of Your Data as described in Section 5
You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software
Our trademarks, logos, and the Studium name are protected intellectual property

6.2 Our Platform

PT. Anak Kucing Terbang owns all rights to the Studium platform, software, and associated intellectual property. Share exports include a small Studium wordmark, which may not be removed or altered.

7. No Fees

Studium is free forever. We do not charge for access, and there are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or payment processing. If we ever introduce paid features, we will do so under separate terms with prior notice, and this Section will be updated.

8. Service Availability and Support

8.1 Service Level

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss

8.2 Customer Support

Support is provided via email and in-app bug reporting
We reserve the right to limit support for violations of these Terms

9. Privacy and Data Protection

9.1 Privacy Policy

Your privacy is governed by our separate Privacy Policy, incorporated by reference.

9.2 Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures
You acknowledge inherent risks in online services
Report security issues immediately

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

10.1 Service Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10.2 No Professional Advice

Studium is a tracking and motivation tool. It does not provide academic, medical, mental-health, or productivity advice, and the statistics it displays (including streaks and derived metrics) are not a measure of research quality or academic merit.

10.3 Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL STUDIUM AND PT. ANAK KUCING TERBANG BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS.

10.4 Maximum Liability

Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you shall not exceed USD 100 or the maximum amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is less.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account and data at any time by contacting us
You may stop using the Service at any time

11.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account for:

Violation of these Terms
Suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
Any other reason, with notice where practicable

11.3 Effect of Termination

Access to the Service will be disabled
Your Data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
You may request a copy of Your Data before deletion by contacting us

12. Changes to Terms

12.1 Modification Rights

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time.

12.2 Notice of Changes

Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notification
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
Changes take effect 30 days after notification

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Indonesian law, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Dispute Resolution

Disputes should first be addressed through our support channels
Binding arbitration may be required for unresolved disputes
Class action waivers may apply where legally permissible

13.3 Jurisdiction

Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in Indonesia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

14. General Provisions

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and PT. Anak Kucing Terbang regarding Studium's service.

14.2 Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

14.3 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

14.4 Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
